Celebrating a German Geocaching Event tradition in London !
Maunday Thursday, "Gründonnerstag" in German, is a very special day for the German geocaching community. In April 2007 in Berlin a new idea was born, to have an event on this special day and calling it "Dönerstag" (https://coord.info/GC10XPP) . The idea spread all over Germany and other countries, just as Austria, Italy and Mallorca, and now in all regions Dönerstag events are being helt. The community always meets at a Döner/Kebab location somewhere in town.
Being this year´s Maundy Thursday on holiday in London, parvaa and me thought why not celebrating that funny tradition here ;-)? Having a döner kebab (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doner_kebab) talking about geocaching and other important things, swapping travelbugs or coins.
If you plan to come, please log a 'Will Attend' - we look forward to meeting many local and tourist geoachers!
Of course it is NOT necessary to eat or drink something to attend this event, just come along, say hello and shake hands and sign the logbook (not obligatory, of course).
Greetings from Germany - norbparvus and parvaa.
