Idioms are curious and colorful expressions. The technical definition of an idiom is a group of words, always used together as a phrase, where the meaning of the phrase isn’t clear from the meaning of the words in it.
Idioms are, in a sense, untranslatable even in their own languages. They are like little cryptic word puzzles.
Here’s an example: I’m not pulling your leg. Or, as they would say in Russia, I’m not hanging noodles on your ears.
For this puzzle, match up the idioms with their translations. Count the number of letters in the first word of each translation. Using those numbers, the final coordinates are:
North A B ° C D . (E-1) (F+1) G
West (H-4) (I-1) (Jx2) ° (K+2) (Lx3) . (M-5) N (O+1)
Do this offset before entering the solution into checker:
Subtract 0.006 from north and subtract 0.002 from west.
If you solved this before Jan. 21, 2021, either apply the offset or go about 35' SSE of your solution.
As an added bonus, this cache qualifies for Telephone Booth challenges. Really. I’m not hanging noodles on your ears.
