Welcome to our first event since lockdown now that things are easing after Covid-19. Welsh rules mean that we are currently only allowed to hold events outside and the Mathews' Pick Your Own Fruit Farm at Aberbran off the A40 between Sennybridge and Brecon have kindly allowed us to use their premises to hold our Community Celebration Event, which was intended to be held last year to celebrate 20 years of geocaching. The name is from the sign that the farm puts up each season to show that they are upen consisting of a large stawberry and the words "PICK YOUR OWN TEA + CAKES" which always made me smile as I drove my bus past most days.
Refreshments will be available to purchase although it is not a requirement and you can also pick yourself some of the available fruit and veg. Bank cards are accepted for any purchases over £5.
The car park area is suitable for wheelchairs and there are a few picnic tables available but it is recommended that you bring a folding chair if possible. There is a bus stop right outside where the TrawsCymru T6 Swansea - Brecon bus will stop (ask for Aberbran as I won't be driving it that day!)
It will be a rather laid back event and will take place rain or shine. The loose theme of the the event is fruit and veg so dress up if you like or bring your best home grown fare or anything else fruit and veg related you can think of. Prizes may be awarded.
Dogs are allowed in the car park and main field but not in the pick your own field.
If you are new to geocaching don't be afraid and come along and meet some like minded nutters.
We will be bringing along our large collection of trackables and geocoins for you to discover.
