Fifth of the series. Any use of the B word is now forbidden on pain of buying everyone a drink .
How to get here:
Train: the location is less than 15 minutes walk from the station (main entrance on the West side, platform 1). From Leeds, trains are at least half-hourly until around 20:30, hourly after that. The last train back is 23:18. From York, trains are hourly at about 11 mins past the hour, last train back is 23:18. In each case, journey time is about 35 min.
Bus: The location is also about 15 minutes from the bus station where there are services to and from the local areas; in addition, there is the frequent 36 Leeds and Ripon bus (drops to hourly after 9-ish in the evening).
Car: Parking in Harrogate can sometimes take a bit of searching. You may find a space on the nearby streets. Victoria Avenue a little to the North often has spaces down the middle. There is a multi-storey just behind the pub, but note the closing time (21:30 when I last looked). And for those who simply can't get enough smartphone apps, there is "AppyParking" which shows any free on-street spaces.
Foot: From the Railway or Bus Station, head South to Victoria Avenue, turn right, then left when you hit the next main road.
Location: The listing coordinates are for the Coach and Horses. The pub has a selection of Real Ales, and on Wednesday evenings serves curries (Note: the lunchtime menu is not available). If curry is not to your taste, there are various fast food outlets and takeaways a short walk towards the centre.
Dogs: Sorry, no dogs.
