I have a feeling this road has seen some action. What I wouldn't give to go back 70 or 80 years and sit here and watch. In 1926, Route 66 was aligned through Catoosa, then re-aligned in 1936 to its current location (now it is Oklahoma highway 66). I-44 opened in 1957 and bypassed Catoosa.
The hike is very easy. Watch for poison ivy. Drive carefully in this area. Please try to disturb the area as little as possible and place things back as you found them.
If you're interested, respectfully visit the cemetery at the top of the hill.
