Let's all meet at Devil's Millhopper State Geologic Site to once again remove those lost but not forgotten tennis balls and pull some of that pesky Coral Ardisia. Thanks to previous CITOs, the thousands of balls that once littered the park are gone. New ones have taken their place however. They don't stand up to the weather very well, so be on the lookout for "hairless" rubber carcasses. Buckets and bags will be provided. Long pants and work gloves are highly recommended, as there are a lot of thorny vines in the Park. A staging area will be established and along with the assistance of the Park Rangers, all that is gathered will be carted off to the dumpster. For those with stronger backs and a disdain for invasive plants, we will be pulling the "weeds" and piling them up for removal as well. A brief reconnaissance mission revealed that most of the plants are short and do not have the red berries. Hopefully that means they won't be as difficult to extract.
The event will be held rain or shine, but let's hope for a beautiful sunny day. Regardless the CO and the Park Rangers will be present.
