AGT(G) - Pinturas Rupestres da Lapa dos Gaivões Traditional Geocache

Os sítios de pintura rupestre de Arronches situam-se em abrigos rochosos a sul da serra de São Mamede, na freguesia de Esperança no município de Arronches.

As pinturas rupestres datam do terceiro milénio antes de Cristo e representam figuras humanas e de animais e desenhos de mãos em tons que vão do vermelho ao amarelo.

O abrigo mais decorado, e o primeiro do conjunto a ser descoberto, em 1914, é o dos Gaivões onde se destaca a "narração" de uma cena de pastorícia, "perfeitamente contextualizável na tipologia da sociedade agro-pastoril" instalada na região há cinco mil anos.

The rock painting sites of Arronches are located in rocky shelters south of the Serra de São Mamede, in the parish of Esperança in the municipality of Arronches.

The cave paintings date from the third millennium BC and represent human and animal figures and hand drawings in shades ranging from red to yellow.

The most decorated shelter, and the first of the set to be discovered, in 1914, is the Gaivões where the "narration" of a pastoral scene stands out, "perfectly contextualizable in the typology of agro-pastoral society" installed in the region five thousand years ago.
