Happy-Merry ChanuChristmaSolstiKwanzakah!
Come one, come all and celebrate the winter holidays together :) Whichever you recognize, or if you don't have specific celebrations, you're welcome. Eat, drink, chat, discover and swap trackables, and/or be merry with your fellow cachers, friends, and family. Silly/festive holiday garb encouraged.
One of the things I really miss from some previous jobs was when we had a Secret Santa/Secret Holiday Pal gift exchange and would surprise a specific coworker each time. These generally stretched over a few days to a week, culminating in a guessing day or group unveiling. It's pretty tough to coordinate something like that with all of us spread out and having different schedules, so this will be the other fun type of exchange, a round-robin: all surprises, we'll take turns selecting/stealing gifts until everyone has something they didn't bring, and then we can try to guess who brought what - or just announce it.
To participate in the round-robin gift exchange portion of the event, bring a wrapped/bagged winter, holiday, geocaching, or general gift item for each attendee who'd like to leave with a gift and try to arrive by 12:15 so we can start the swap soon afterward.
Exchange gifts can be new or like-new, bought or found, handmade or home-baked, vintage or antique, or even repurposed or a regift.
Please nothing religious, political, or overly "adult", and no alcohol (we're meeting in a restaurant - don't want to make things awkward for them). If it's an edible, please include an ingredient list for those who might have allergies. Can be serious or silly. Bring something you might enjoy getting. The key is for this to be fun.
To keep things somewhat equitable, aim for a value of around $5-10 per.
Yes, you can come for the camaraderie (and/or the food) and not participate in the gift exchange. We enjoy your company :)
