Long before the Dick & Willie Trail was cut through here, I had extensive experience in these woods. As a kid, I played back here frequently. In my teen years, I would drive with friends down the narrow, rutted utlity road that, for a time, one could access from Country Club Drive. Tempting fate, we would drive our cars over a tiny, narrow land bridge over the creek that flows through here. On one occasion, a friend misjudged the width of the land bridge, and... BOOM! Disaster! It was not pretty. Nor was the aftermath for my friend.
