Welcome to INTERVENING DAYS XI. The expression 'Intervening Days' here refers to the days between Christmas Day and New Year's Day. This is the eleventh year the event has been run. It will be a casual, fun gathering for geocachers and their muggle friends looking for an outing during the 2019 Intervening Days. The original INTERVENING DAYS was run in 2008 by cachers Ian and Penny. Following the success of the event they also ran it in 2009 and 2010. Ausdynamix and Scubacrazy666 ran it in 2011. Scubacrazy666 ran it alone in 2012 and 2013. The 2 Wanderers ran it in 2014, 2015 and 2016. The venue for all these events was Hannah Watts Park in Melton. There was no event in 2017. In 2018 INTERVENING DAYS X was run by local geocacher Benjamin Screamer. Unfortunately Hannah Watts Park was closed for renovation at the time so Navan Park, West Melton, was chosen as the venue. The tradition was revived in 2019 and INTERVENING DAYS XI will be held at the bigger and better Hannah Watts Park. You can ARRIVE FROM 5.00 pm onward and we will FINISH AROUND 7.00 pm. At GZ there are some under-cover free electric barbecues, picnic tables and bench seats. Toilets, rubbish bins, a children's playground and plenty of parking is nearby. Adult supervision of children is needed on the walking path near the creek. There will be two traditional games to play, namely a FTF random name drawn from a hat game, and a Closest to the Coordinates game. You will need to bring a GPS or similar device for that game. Modest prizes will be won. A TB table will be provided. I look forward to seeing everyone at the event. HAPPY GEOCACHING IN THE MEANTIME. Congratulations to Landau351 who won the FTF prize, a handsome yellow plastic smiley face mug. Congratulations to Mielikkii (from Hungary) who won the Cacher Who Travelled the Farthest to Attend Prize. She chose the platypus from the swag jar.
