Geocache Description:

14 December 2019, 12:00 - 13:00

Please bring everything including a Chair & Table and most important your food or there are plenty of food outlets in the Main Street or the Harbour Area.

At the above Event Co-ords there are a couple of BBQ’s and a Rotunda plus a Playground for the children to amuse themselves. The toilets are a short distance away.

Parking is available in Gellibrand St which is the closest Street.

Our local Victorian Reviewer has offered the following:

Are you a newbie cacher attending your first event? If you enjoy geocaching and wish to take your membership further, you will be eligible for 1 month free upgrade to a premium membership. See Bushfire at the event for the details.

Although the tower at the Harbour Area was an afterthought it has become the focal point of the whole complex and provides a 30 metre high tower (There is a Lift) that has an observation deck and provides the best views of the Heads and surrounding areas.

The Harbour has 250 berths, a further 110 dry stack berths and 30 land berths.

The marina is a must visit destination as it will provide the tourist with a view of whole bay and heads area.

The Queenscliff Harbour complex is attending to the needs of boat owners from Melbourne as it has Port Phillip Bay’s largest sling crane.

PARKING AT THE HARBOUR COMPLEX.

While parking is available you still have to be careful as the first hour is FREE and thereafter $2 per hour BUT YOU MUST GRAB A TICKET FROM THE MACHINE AND PLACE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF YOUR DASH.

To do this you simply push the TICKET BUTTON for your one-hour free park. If staying for longer you must pay.

ON MY LAST TRIP TO QUEENSCLIFF TO CHECK EVERYTHING OUT THE SIGNS & MACHINE HAVE BEEN REMOVED.

I have given you the co-ords of the shopping centre where if you prefer something different there are at least two Fish & Chips shops, two Bakeries and a number of Takeaway Shops that you can purchase salad rolls/sandwiches and a Hotel around the corner.

You will not go hungry.

While in Queenscliff you may like to visit some of the following.

The average weather temperature for December is 22°.

The Queenscliff Fort.

Wander around the Harbour Area and 30m Lookout Tower.

Walk down the main shopping centre.

Visit the Rip View Look out in Port Lonsdale.

Don’t forget your GPS and spare batteries.

If you still have some spare time then a visit to the Visitor Centre for more things to do.

There will be a surprise method of choosing the FTF again but will not involve the White Beast and the keys will stay in my pocket.

Can we beat last year’s record attendance at this Event!!!!!.
