Sévérac l’Eglise est un village situé 2 Km à l’Ouest de Laissac. C’est un village typique du Causse. Bien qu’il n’ait aucun bâtiment classé, il est remarquable par son bâti pierre et ses rues à façades continues et ses balets (escalier et perron extérieurs).
Les communes de Laissac et Séverac L'Eglise se sont regroupées le 1er janvier 2016 pour devenir ainsi une commune plus efficace de plus de 2 000 habitants. Les communes voisines sont Bertholène, Gaillac d'Aveyron, Ségur et Palmas.
Laissac Séverac L'Eglise est un bourg dynamique et vivant aux multiples activités commerciales et sportives tout le long de l'année. Son rayonnement est important dans le département tout le long de l'année.
En 2016, Laissac Séverac L'Eglise a obtenu le titre de "Village étape". C'est est la première commune aveyronnaise à obtenir le label. Dans notre région, seules les communes d'Aumont-Aubrac, de Florac et de La Canourgue (toutes en Lozère) étaient labellisées. C'est un label officiel français attribué à des communes de moins de 5 000 habitants situées à proximité d'un grand axe routier et respectant une charte de qualité en matière de services, d'accueil et d'hôtellerie. Le label, attribué pour cinq ans, est renouvelable.
