[EN] The cache is located at the side of the road near Abgunste Manor and its surrounding area. You can park your car in the adjacent well-kept area. If there is no private event taking place on the manor grounds, I recommend taking a leisurely stroll through the vast surroundings of the manor, visiting the garden, the shed, various art installations, and walking the short but impressive sensory trail! The cache has been placed with the consent of the manor owners, who by the way, have also been active geocachers in the past. Abgunste Manor is a residence for creativity, all types of art, cultural and creative processes, contemporary design, and celebrating life.
The manor was built around 1780, but was burnt down during times of unrest. Restoration of the building began in 1908 and the parish completed it in 1931 by establishing Gaismas pils (Castle of Light) - Abgunste School. Today, the manor is being transformed into a creative environment for art symposiums, events, exhibitions, seminars, and accommodation during the summer months. Since autumn 2017, open craft workshops for potters, textile artists, and woodworkers have been operating, as well as the largest ceramics kiln in Latvia.
