Winshill Methodist Church was formed in 1962 by the amalgamation of the congregations from High Bank Road and Church Hill Street at the former location, the latter is sadly now a convenience store. Indeed many locals still refer to it as "High Bank Methodist". The building dates from c. 1879 with the porch being added in 1973.
The cache is a nano and is just on church property (by kind permission of one of the Stewards) but there is no need to enter anything; it is accessible from the pavement. Please be considerate of neighbours as this is in a residential area and also to avoid suspicion please don't search at times when activities are taking place. Please rehide well so it's not visible from the pavement.
Sad to relate, the church held its last service on 6 March 2022 as it's closing due to structural issues with the rear hall. The cache will remain in place for now until it's clear what the plans for the building are.
