Free entry to Stowe Gardens today! Dogs on leads welcome! No cycling!
Well, here we are again. Not only at the beautiful grounds of Stowe House with its award-winning gardens (for the 4th time) but at the dawn of the 4th Geolympix Mega! While Kent and Halloween teams successfully notched-up three Megas a piece (at the time of writing), the Geolympix Team are suckers for punishment and are using this event to launch the countdown to 2020's Stowe Geolympix, being held on Sunday August 30th. Meanwhile, at this event there will be the traditional geocaching chitchat, help with puzzles, swapping of travel items, picnic lunch on the steps and discussion about where the nearest loos are now (back at the house, to the left of the main entrance steps).
Where: The Temple of Concord and Victory, Stowe Gardens, Bucks - Please note there's FREE ENTRY to Stowe on the day of this event! The location gives cover from the sun (or rain, but that won't happen).
When: Sunday September 22nd 2019, from 1pm til 2pm. Perfect picnic lunch time.
What: A gathering for Geocachers to exchange travel items and tall caching tales. New to caching or cache events? You'll be made especially welcome.
Who: Anyone who wants to come. We're even Muggle-friendly.
Why: Stowe is always lovely. Extra lovely when it has FREE ENTRY! For the second time this year!! Plus there's this Geolympix thing...
Helpful info: See the additional waypoint for parking. You can get a free ride from there to the entrance and back, but then you've a walk through the grounds to GZ. There are also electric golf buggies available for the less able for a donation. Dogs are fine, but keep them on the lead please. The event location was chosen with NT approval and it's sheltered. Loos at the house.
Fun Fact: The area has a Bond link: The Gothic Temple was used for a funeral scene in 1999's The World is Not Enough.
