Sainte-Brigitte était une ancienne trêve de la paroisse de Cléguérec. L’église de Sainte-Brigitte date des XVIIème et début du XVIIIème siècle. A l’intérieur, se trouve un riche retable et l’un des autels est dédié à Saint-Eloi, patron des forgerons. 
La fontaine du bas du bourg fut certainement témoin de l’évolution de ce joli village : au XVème siècle, la famille de Rohan implante une sidérurgie en forêt de Quénécan grâce à la présence de l’eau, du bois et du minerai de fer. Cette activité connaît un essor considérable à partir de 1802. Au XIXème siècle, la commune comptait entre 700 et 800 habitants, contre 170 aujourd’hui.

Sainte-Brigitte was an old canton of the parish of Cléguérec. The church of St. Brigitte dates from the seventeenth and early eighteenth century. Inside, there is a rich altarpiece and one of the altars is dedicated to Saint-Eloi, the patron saint of blacksmiths. The fountain of the lower town bears witness to the evolution of this pretty village: in the 15th century, the family of Rohan established a steel industry in Quénécan forest thanks to the presence of water, wood and iron ore. This activity experienced a considerable boom from 1802. In the nineteenth century, the town had between 700 and 800 inhabitants, against 170 today.
