La chapelle St Joseph du Gouvello
Recteur de Ste Brigitte de décembre 1956 à février 1960, l’abbé François Guyodo, vu l’éloignement des paroissiens du quartier, de l’église paroissiale, à une époque où les voitures étaient encore rares, entreprit la construction d’une chapelle. Pour ce faire, il sollicita de la part de Madame la Comtesse du Luart, la mise à disposition d’un terrain, ce qui fut fait. Pour la suite, faisons référence aux écrits de l’Abbé Guyodo dans le cahier de paroisse du mois de novembre 1958.
Cahier de paroisse :
« En mai 1958, commençait la Chapelle St Joseph du Gouvello. Elle était terminée et bénie par Mgr Quelven le 12 octobre 1958. Tous les habitants du quartier ont bien voulu aider leur recteur en transportant pierres, sable, ciment et en creusant les fondations. Le maçon était Job Le Tellier du Ruello. Madame la Comtesse dans sa générosité a payé toute la maçonnerie et fourni le bois. Le reste étant à la charge de Monsieur le Recteur. »
The chapel St Joseph of Gouvello
Father François Guyodo, Rector of St. Brigitte from December 1956 to February 1960, aware of the remoteness of his parishioners from the parish church in St. Brigitte, (at a time when cars were still scarce), began the construction of this chapel.
To do this, he asked Madame la Comtesse du Luart for the provision of land, which she agreed to.
Abbot Guyodo wrote about this in the parish register in November 1958.

"The construction of St Joseph's Chapel of Gouvello was started in May 1958. It was finished and blessed by Bishop Quelven on October 12, 1958. All the inhabitants of the district were kind enough to help their rector by carrying stones, sand, cement and digging the foundations. The mason was Job Le Tellier du Ruello. Madame la Comtesse in her generosity paid all the masonry and provided the wood. The rest being the responsibility of the Rector."
