Fältspat
Fältspat är en av jordens vanligaste mineraler och bildar oftast lådformiga kristaller. Ungefär 40 % av jordskorpan består av fältspat.
Fältspat är en mineralgrupp med natrium,eller kalcium. Det finns två typer av fältspat: kalifältspat och plagioklas. Kalifältspat är ofta ljust röd-brun eller röd men kan även ha andra ljusa färger medan plagioklas är grå, vit eller i vissa fall en aning beige.
När fältspat inte är så tydligt ensamt som här är det vanligt att de bygger samman bergartstyperna gnejs och granit tillsammans med kvarts och glimmer, som är vanliga i Sveriges äldre berggrund.

Här finner du gruvan och här kan man se fälspat tydligt vilket annars är ovanligt trots att det är en av de vanligaste mineralerna. När fältspat slås sönder visar den tydliga brott i nittio graders vinkel. Det gör det enkelt att identifiera just fältspat. Det syns tydligt på platsen du står på.

Här finner du fältspat med plana ytor och mineralstrukturen syns väldigt tydligt, exempelvis uppbyggnad och kornstorlek. Fältspatet har klarat sig bra mot vittring och erosion.
Gruvbrytning och användning
På 1800-talet eller eventuellt sent 1700-tal började man bryta fältspat här, först nedanför den befintliga gruvan och sedan gruvan och på andra sidan bäcken. Fältspatet transporterades vintertid till Kungsbacka eller Onsalahalvön troligtvis med oxar för omlastning. För vidare transport till Engelska porslinstillverkare

Feldspar
Feldspar is one of the most usual minerals in the earth and usually forms box-shaped crystals. About 40% of the earth's crust consists of feldspar.
Feldspar is a mineral group containing sodium, or calcium. There are two types of feldspar: potassium feldspar and plagioclase. Potassium feldspar is often light red-brown or red but may also have other light colors while plagioclase is gray, white or in some cases slightly beige.
When feldspar is not as distinctly lonely as it is here, it is common for them to assemble rock types of gneiss and granite together with quartz and mica, which are common in Sweden's older bedrock.

Here you will find the mine and here you can see feldspar clearly which is otherwise unusual despite it being one of the most common minerals. When the feldspar is broken, it shows clear offense at a ninety degree angle. It makes it easy to identify the feldspar. It is clearly visible in the place you are at.
At Waypoint 2 on the other side of the dam
Here you will find feldspar with flat surfaces and the mineral structure can be seen very clearly, such as structure and grain size. The feldspar has did well against weather and erosion.
Mining and use
In the 19th century or possibly late 18th century, people began to break feldspar here, first below the stairs and then the mine and on the other side of the creek. The feldspar was transported during winter time to Kungsbacka or Onsala peninsula probably with oxen for transhipment. For further transport to English porcelain manufacturers.
