Geocache Description:

09 November 2019, 15:00 - 18:00

PCamping is a camping weekend, some fees apply to camp areas.

Event log available to any cacher once campsite has been established till Sunday morning once camp is broken...                        November 8, 2019 2:00pm - November 10, 2019 AM @ Slot A19

Main event Saturday November 9 2019 3:00pm- 6:00pm feel free to bring a chair , hat and something to eat/ drink... swap tales and goodies, door prizes maybe given, games maybe played....difficulty rating is for possible hikes you can take. Day use Park Entrance Fee Per vehicle (1-4 Adults): $7.00 Individual/bicycle: $3.00

Saturday early AM there will be a hike to the top... you are not required to accomplish this feat but it is fun!!!

As of this publishing several spots are still available... The park is Wheelchair accessible but of course hiking the peak is NOT WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY. This is a desert park, beware of things that rattle, sting, bite, and scratch. If you chose to hike the peak (one of my favorite hikes in AZ) and you use a hiking stick be sure it is one that can be hands free as there are ladders to traverse. hiking gloves are a good idea too as the railings are metal and can get hot hot hot... lots of h20 too!!!

The park is located approximately 40 miles west of Tucson, AZ and 60 miles east of Phoenix, AZ, off I-10 at exit 219. The park entrance is located ½ mile off the Interstate. Follow the brown park signs to the park entrance. The Visitor Center is located ½ mile past the park entrance. Park gate hours: 5:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. Visitor Center hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

A note about camping:                                                                                                                                                                                                 The campground has a total of 85 electric sites for both tent and RV camping. Sites are suitable for RVs and/or tents. No more than six adults and 12 people total per site. No more than four vehicles per site. Only one motorhome/RV per site. Four sites are handicapped-accessible. No water or sewer hookups are available. Access to all sites is paved. Sites are fairly level and are located in a natural Sonoran Desert setting. Both back-ins and pull-throughs are available. No maximum size limit (except no tractor trailers allowed). All sites offer a picnic table and barbeque/fire ring. Many sites also offer ramadas, and some of the sites are handicapped-accessible. Use of the dump station is included in the price for camping. Potable water is available at the dump station. Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Generator use is not permitted. There are two modern, handicapped-accessible restroom and shower buildings available at no additional charge for campers.
