[LV] Skatu tornis atrodas Melnragu pļavās – īpašā vietā, kur vērojami gan dabiskām pļavām raksturīgie procesi, gan bebru darbības rezultāts – bebraine. No šejienes var pārraudzīt arī Ķemeru tīreļa rietumu daļai piegulošos purvainos un staignāju mežus. Pagājušā gadsimta vidū, teritorijas pielāgojot lauksaimnieciskajai ražošanai un mežkopībai, tika ierīkota plaša meliorācijas sistēma. Grāvju tīkls teritorijas nesaudzīgi nosusināja un degradēja. Lai nākotnē saglabātu Eiropas mērogā apdraudētas dabas vērtības, Dabas aizsardzības pārvalde 2018. gadā šajās teritorijās atjaunoja dabisko ūdens līmeni.
Slēpnis atrodas nelielajā skatu tornīša konstrukcijā - pats tornis ir salīdzinoši zemā vietā, kur ilglaicīgi uzkrājas ūdens, līdz ar to var noderēt vai nu gumijas zābaki, vai arī neliela pakāpelēšana pa koka konstrukcijām. Informāciju par šī vides objekta izveidošanu (datumu) neatradu, bet tā kā šī vieta vēl nav redzama ne Google, ne Bing satelītos, tad visdrīzākais tas varētu būt uzbūvēts šī (2019.) gada pirmā puse. Par precīzām slēpņa koordinātām paļaujos uz Dabas aizsardzības pārvaldes sniegto informāciju. :)
Plašāku informāciju dažādās valodām gan par Melnragu pļavām un mitrajiem mežiem, gan par Dunduru pļavām un izlīkumoto (atjaunoto) Slampes upi, gan arī par daudzveidīgo floru un faunu noteikti atradīsiet paši vai izlasīsiet pie info stendiem klātienē, ja būs aktuāli. Tā kā šī vieta ir pirmā pa ceļam uz Dunduru pļavām un savvaļas ganībām no ziemeļu puses, tad vēlējos pievienot dažus papildus pieturas un apskates punktus apkārt pašām Dunduru pļavām, kas, manā skatījumā, pietrūka otram (pirmajam) Ķemeru tīreļa rietumu daļas slēpnim, lai pilnībā izbaudītu šo superīgo ekosistēmu. [EN] The observation tower is located in the Melnragi meadows - a special place where natural meadow processes and the result of beaver activities - beaver ponds can be observed. From here, one can also overlook the swampy and stagnant forests adjacent to the western part of the Ķemeri bog. In the mid-20th century, a large-scale drainage system was installed in the area to adapt it for agricultural production and forestry, which ruthlessly drained and degraded the territory. In 2018, the Nature Conservation Agency restored the natural water level in these areas to preserve endangered natural values on a European scale in the future.
The cache is located in a small observation tower structure - the tower itself is relatively low, where water accumulates for a long time, so rubber boots or a small climb on wooden structures may come in handy. Information on the establishment of this environmental object (date) was not found, but since this place is not yet visible on Google satellite images, it is likely that it was built in the first half of 2019. I rely on the information provided by the Nature Conservation Agency for the precise coordinates of the cache. :)
You will find more information in various languages about the Melnragi meadows and wet forests, as well as the Dunduri meadows and the winding (restored) Slampes River, and the diverse flora and fauna on site or at information stands if they are available. Since this place is the first on the way to the Dunduri meadows and wild grazing from the north, I wanted to add some additional stops and viewing points around the Dunduri meadows themselves, which, in my opinion, were missing in the first cache in the western part of the Ķemeri bog, to fully enjoy this superb ecosystem.
