The line, as well as Honington station, was opened in 1867 by Great Northern Railway.
Honington station closed on 10 September 1962 but was still occasionally used. The line lasted another three years before complete closure in 1965. The track at Honington Junction was lifted soon after.
The platforms still exist as you will see from the information you need.
