Construite par les Allemands pendant l'annexion, elle comportait aussi un mirador camouflé dans la tour pour surveiller la vallée de l'Orne

Elle fut construite à l'époque où Amnéville faisait partie de Gandrange.

Sthalheim, (nom allemand d'Amnéville) fut créé et séparé de Gandrange en 1902.
