Geocache Description:

The Bahá'í Gardens (also called the Hanging Gardens of Haifa) with the Shrine of the Báb are the main tourist attraction in Haifa and are among the most visited places in Israel. The Shrine in its current form was completed in 1953 and in 2008 placed on UNESCO World Heritage List. It is the second most holy place for the Bahá'í faith. The gardens are very beautiful and also popular place for taking pictures of the gardens and the bay of Haifa. There are three public entrances to the gardens (see the waypoints). The upper and lower entrance allow entrance to a small part of the garden close to the respective gate and the central gate allows access to the Shrine. Other areas are accessible only as part of a guided tour of the gardens (available daily excluding Wednesdays), some parts are off limits to public like Bahá'í World Centre Buildings

Please note that visiting the Shrine and its surrounding area is possible daily but only from 9 to 12 in the morning, excluding Bahá'í holidays and Yom Kippur when the gardens are closed. There is no entrance fee. You need to plan your visit accordingly. Also you need to dress modestly (covered shoulders, no short pants) as this is a religious site.

For more information visit the official website: https://www.ganbahai.org.il/en/haifa/

To log this cache, reach the posted coordinates (use the main entrance) just outside of the Shrine in the visiting hours (9-12) (visiting the inside is not required).

When you have your back to the Shrine you will see a beautiful view of the gardens below and Haifa. Turn around and walk to the closed white door of the Shrine and answer the following questions:

1. How many round columns are in front of the Shrine ? Look also how many round columns are on the left side.

2. Look up, how many round (circular) windows you can see ? How many such windows are on the left side ?

3. Standing near the closed white door, how many light sources (lamps) attached to the building you can see ? (only those, not the garden lights)

4. Attach a picture of yourself or your GPS near the posted coordinates, without revealing the answers to the questions above. (NOT inside, it is not allowed to take pictures inside the Shrine !)
