Legend about the dream of Gediminas
The legend of the founding of Vilnius tells that once upon a time the Grand Duke of Lithuania Gediminas after a successful hunt settled for a night near the mouth of river Vilnia in so called valley of Šventaragis. During his sleep he had a dream that a huge iron wolf was standing on top of a hill and sounded like a hundred of wolves. Pagan priest Lizdeika revealed the secret of the dream that the iron wolf means an insuperable castle and the glory of an established town will be heard all around the world. Grand Duke Gediminas built a castle and established a town giving a name Vilnius.
To log this virtual cache, you must fulfill the following requirements:
Visit the valley of Šventaragis (cache coordinates) and add to your found log a photo of your illustration of the legend of the dream of Gediminas. If it is dry you may pretend to be duke Gediminas sleeping on the wooden bench at the coordinates of the cache. If you come with kids you may lay out the scene of the dream from toy figures on the same bench. If you come with a dog ask him to sit on the stump and howl. If you are too shy to show your acting skills you may draw the illustration of Gediminas dream and take a photo of this drawing. And even better - be creative.
A photo illustrating the legend is the requirement to log the cache as found.
It is not obligatory, but you may also visit the places of Vilnius related to Grand Duke of Lithuania Gediminas - Gediminas hill and castle, monument for Gediminas, Gediminas avenue...
Legenda apie Gedimino sapną
Vilniaus įkūrimo legenda byloja, kad kartą po sėkmingos medžioklės Lietuvos didysis kunigaikštis Gediminas apsistojo nakvynei netoli Vilnios žiočių taip vadinamame Šventaragio slėnyje. Miegodamas jis susapnavo, kad ant kalno stovi geležinis vilkas ir staugia tarytum šimtas vilkų. Kunigaikščio žynys Lizdeika išaiškino sapno prasmę, kad ant kalno neįveikiama pilis stovės, o šalia įkurto miesto šlovė sklis po visą pasaulį. Didysis kunigaikštis Gediminas pastatė pilį ir įkūrė miestą, kurį pavadino Vilniumi.
Norėdami užregistruoti šio virtualaus lobiuko radybas turite:
Aplankyti Šventaragio slėnį (šio virtualaus lobio koordinates) ir prie radybų įrašo pridėti savo sukurtos Gedimino sapno legendos iliustracijos nuotrauką. Jei sausa, suvaidinkite miegantį Gediminą ant koordinatėse esančio medinio suolo. Jei atėjote su vaikais, sudėliokite iš žaislinių figūrėlių Gedimino sapno sceną ant to paties suolo. Jei atėjote su šuniu, paprašykite jį pakaukti atsisėdus ant kelmo. Jei esate per kuklus parodyti savo aktorystės sugebėjimus, nupieškite ir nufotografuokite Gedimino sapno iliustraciją. O dar geriau - improvizuokite.
Legendą iliustruojanti nuotrauka yra privaloma sąlyga radyboms registruoti.
