Geocache Description:

[Co-ordinates will take you to the double sided information board separating the Mere and Framingham Castle.]

Please answer the following questions which can be found at GZ to claim this Virtual cache. Please email the answers or use the message centre and not include in your log.

1. How many chimneys on the castle can you see from this angle?

2. According to the information board at this location, How many years has there been a natural Mere here?

3. How many priests and obstinate men were imprisoned in the tower to your right?

4. Take a photo of yourself or your gps co-ordinates with either the castle or the Mere in the background. You do not have to show your face if you do not wish to. It could be a TB, your hand etc.

The castle is mentioned in and is the title of one of Ed Sheeran’s Songs, hence the title of this cache. Framingham is where he was raised as a child. There was an early Mott and Bailey Norman Castle on this site but was destroyed by Henry II. It was then rebuilt by the Earl of Norfolk during the latter part of the 12th century. The Market town also boasts a magnificent church, an awe inspiring college and two of the oldest post boxes that are still in use. The town is worthy of exploring for so many reasons. So why not spend some time walking around the area and not just the castle.
