When I first discovered this spot I just knew this would be the special place where I would want to initiate my Virtual Cache awarded to me. I would have loved to give a decent description page of this special suspension bridge, including history and by who it was built, but unfortunately I could not find much information when I started my research. Maybe one day there will be some more historic information which I can add here.
In order to log your find, please make your way to the middle of the suspension bridge and take a beautiful photo of either yourself, your caching team or just a photo indicating that you are indeed in the middle of the bridge. A thumbs up picture will be good, if you may. Please remember to attach the photo to your log.
Some information I could find regarding the bridge, is the following, and I quote:
"This structure has significance as a local crossing point across the Eerste River, possibly reinforcing an older pattern of crossing such as a 'drift'. It has social and community significance." I also learned that the bridge is not older than 60 years and is graded as IIIC (not sure what that means).
