"Rusthof" herbergt een eenvoudig oorlogsmonument met een vijftal oorlogsgraven van uit Ridderkerk afkomstige militairen, die in de meidagen van 1940 zijn gesneuveld en hier zijn (her)begraven, voor elk van hen is een herinneringsplaquette op de muur aangebracht.
# Wij hebben gekozen voor deze locatie omdat het monument ons persoonlijk aanspreekt. Onze zoon is beroepsmilitair en beroepshalve ook uitgezonden geweest naar Afghanistan. We hebben de vlag uitgehangen toen hij weer thuis kwam. Voor de militairen benoemd op het monument heeft het helaas niet zo mogen zijn. Dit mag nooit vergeten worden #
Op 4 mei herdenkt Nederland alle gevallen soldaten uit de tweede wereldoorlog. Op deze dag is het erg druk op deze plaats. De keus is aan u om op deze dag de cache te bezoeken, maar toen dan wel uw resprect.
Ook is dit een openbare begraafplaats, graag uw respect hiervoor. Voor de opdracht is het niét nodig om de begraafplaats te betreden!!
Wij zouden het leuk vinden als u een foto maakt waarop duidelijk te zien is dat u op deze locatie bent geweest. U hoeft er zelf niet op te staan.

"Rusthof" houses a simple war memorial with five war graves of soldiers from Ridderkerk, who fell in the May days of 1940 and were (re) buried here, for each of them a memorial plaque is placed on the wall.
# We chose this location because the monument appeals to us personally. Our son has also been sent to Afghanistan as a professional soldier. We hung out the flag when he came home. For the soldiers named on the monument unfortunately there was no homecoming. This should never be forgotten #
On May the fourth the Netherlands commemorates all fallen soldiers from the second world war. On this day it is very busy at this place. Show your respect if you decided to visit te cache on this day.
This is also a public cemetery, please respect it. For the assignment it is not necessary to enter the cemetery !!
