Pour répondre aux questions, vous devrez entrer dans la cathédrale. Faites attention aux horaires d'ouverture :
Du lundi au vendredi : 8h - 19h
samedi : 8h - 19h30
dimanche : 8h - 18h
du 1er octobre au 31 mars : 8h - 17h
La chapelle Notre Dame du Chevet de la cathédrale du Mans fut consacrée et dédiée à la Vierge Marie le 20 avril 1254 par l'Evêque Geoffroy de Loudun.
Le concert céleste de 47 anges musiciens, peint sur les voûtes de la chapelle est un sommet de la peinture gothique occidentale.
Il s'agit de l'œuvre d'un peintre de la Cour des rois de France Charles V et VI, peut-être Jean de Bruges, auteur des cartons de la tapisserie de l'Apocalypse à Angers.
Ces anges rayonnent de couleurs, de lumière et d'harmonie, et utilisent 24 instruments différents dont le fameux "échiquier d'Angleterre" (table couverte d'un échiquier avec un clavier sur l'un des côtés), aujourd'hui disparu et également représenté sur la grande rosace du transept.
Gontier de Baigneux, évêque du Mans de 1367 à 1385 fait peindre les voûtes de la chapelle, probablement entre 1370 et 1378.
Visibles jusqu'en 1767, elles ont ensuite été recouvertes d'un enduit à la chaux et redécouvertes en 1842...

1. Qu'est ce qu'un phylactère ? Qu'est ce qu'un rotulus ? (donner les définitions du panneau !)
2. Retrouvez l'Ange à la harpe. De quelle couleur est sa toge ?
3. Retrouvez l'Ange à l'échiquier. Combien d' "étoiles" voyez vous au dessus de sa tête ?
4. Retrouvez le vitrail de la photo ci-dessous (il s'agit du troisième double vitrail après être entré, sur le côté droit de la chapelle). Quel est le prénom inscrit sous le carré jaune ?
5. OBLIGATOIRE : Faites une photo de vous (ou n'importe quoi permettant d'identifier votre pseudo Geocaching) à l'entrée de la chapelle et postez la dans votre log.

The chapel of Notre Dame du Chevet in the cathedral of Le Mans was consecrated and dedicated to the Virgin Mary on April 20, 1254 by Bishop Geoffroy de Loudun.
The celestial concert of 47 musical angels, painted on the vaults of the chapel, is a peak of occidental gothic painting.

4. Find the stained-glass window in the photo below (this is the third double stained-glass window after entering, on the right side of the chapel). What is the first name written under the yellow square.
5. MANDATORY : Take a photo of yourself (or anything identifying your Geocaching nickname) at the entrance to the chapel and post it in your log.
