Nízkotatranská Poľana smerom na sever prechádza do turistami pomerne málo navštevovanej rázsochy s vrcholmi Zákľuky (1914 m), Bôr (1888 m) a Havrany ( 1452 m). Pretože je tento tiahly hrebeň vzdialený od lanoviek, nájdete tu kľud a pokoj, aby ste mohli vnímať pestrosť krásnych zelených horských lúk, ktorú umocňujú roztrúsené skalné útvary. Naviac sa Vám cestou naskytnú nezvyčajné pohľady na Dereše, Chopok či Chabenec.
Odporúčaná výstupová cesta začína pri Vrbickom plese odkiaľ po žltej turistickej značke pokračuje na rozcestie Tri Vody (1370 m). Jej začiatok je poplatný dobe a tak ostáva len veriť, že namiesto stromov tu už nebudú len hotely a chaty.
Od tohto rozcestia do Sedla Poľany (1837 m) vedie v závere pomerne strmý chodník, ktorý v sedle nahradia očarujúce výhľady na Kotliská, Skalku, Chabenec a Žiarsku hoľu. Zo sedla nasleduje krátke stúpanie hlavným hrebeňom na Poľanu a ďalej už len vpravo po žltej rázsochou Poľany až do sedla Sinej.
Okolie sedla je už pár rokov poznačené následkami veternej kalamity, ale po tých rokoch je vychodená výrazná „obchádzková“ trasa (pod sedlom na niektorých miestach doplnená zelenými šípkami), ktorá sa bezpečne napája na pôvodný značený chodník. Zostup k Demänovskej jaskyni slobody je pomerne strmý na dvoch krátkych úsekoch zaistený oceľovými lanami, v závere aj korytom potoka.
Ku keške.
Keďže ide o virtuálnu kešku, nehľadajte prosím krabičku. Pre zalogovanie stačí priložiť Vašu fotku pri skalách na súradniciach. Je to jednoduché - jeden nick, jedna fotka. Skupinové fotky nebudem akceptovať.
Ak sa rozhodnete pre túto túru, pamätajte na svoju bezpečnosť, vrtkavosť počasia a to, že úsek od Poľany po sedlo Sinej podlieha v čase 1.10 – 30.6 sezónnej uzávere turistických chodníkov.

The Poľana ridge is a part of not-so-well known fringe of Low Tatras mountains, with several peaks (Zákľuky – 1914 m, Bôr – 1888 m and Havrany – 1452 m). This part of the Low Tatras National Park is located far away from the most visited parts of Low Tatras and as such is mostly free of human touch. You can enjoy peace and quiet in the midst of picturesque mountain meadows with atypical rock formations lining the trail. Furthermore you will be able to see the main Low Tatras mountain ridge (with peaks such as Dereše, Chopok, Chabanec) from a wholly new and different angle.
The recommended trail starts at Vrbické mountain lake. You should follow the yellow trail marks to the Tri Vody (1370 mnm) trail fork. The beginning of the trail is marked by the times we live in and we can only hope that there is still some nature left behind after the hotel expansion. From Tri Vody the trail will take you to the Poľana saddle, with stunning views of Kotliská, Chabanec and Skalka. From the saddle you will need to hike to the main Poľana mountain ridge and from there on, you just need to go right and follow the main Poľana ridge till you arrive at Siná saddle.
After the calamity the forests near the saddle are quite decimated and the trail may be still obstructed. However after several years of hiking, tourists created an alternate „detour“ trail. You can spot the detours by green arrows bellow the saddle pointing you to other trail. This detour trail is safe and will safely bring you back to the yellow trail after bypassing the trail obstructions. Descent from the saddle to the Demänovská caves is quite steep, and in 2 places the trail is secured by steel ropes. Also the last part of the trail will descent via a mountain brook.
Cache: This is a virtual cache, so there is no physical container. If you want to log this cache, all you need to do is attach your photo near the stones on the cache coordinates. It’s quite simple really – one nick, one picture, one log. Group photos will not be accepted. If you decide to go on this hike, be aware of the quick changing weather conditions in higher altitudes. Also remember that safety always comes first.
According to Slovak laws the trail part from Poľana to Siná saddle is closed from 1.10 to 30.06. Please respect this.
