Geocache Description:

Did you know that St Louis is playing a giant chess match with the rest of the world?

On May 7, 2012, the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis earned a Guninness World Record by creating the World's Largest Chess Piece. It stood 14 feet 6 inches tall and was 6 feet wide at the base.

Then, in April of 2014, a plucky challenger attacked our position. A team of students and teachers at Gitok school in Kalmthout, Belgium, created a chess piece 16 feet, 7 inches tall - a move that snatched the record from our grasp.

Not to be outdone, the World Chess Hall of Fame began planning their counterplay. On April 12, 2018, for the opening of the 2018 U.S. Chess Championships, they unveiled a new World Record piece. It stands 20 feet tall, with a base of 9 feet 2 inches in diameter.

The rest of the world is hereby on notice that St Louis will not resign this match without a fight!
