Signalen och Märkesbacken
Vid koordinaterna finns det högsta och äldsta konstverket på Campus Linköping, "Signalen" av Ernst Nordin och Hans Winberg. Det placerades här 1973 i samband med att C-huset byggdes 1972.
Själva konstverket består av fyra cylindrar uppe på toppen av pelarna, där varje cylinder har olika radie och längd. Kan du räkna ut vilken som har störst volym bara genom att titta från marken? Du får hemskt gärna skriva ditt svar i din logg, men det är inget krav.
Det finns också en bokstav på cylindern med störst radie, den fanns där inte när konstverket sattes upp utan representerar en av tekniska högskolans linjer (utbildningsprogram). Konstnären lär ha varit måttligt road av tilltaget, men bokstaven sitter där än idag.
I själva cykelbanan har studenterna målat märken för sina sektioner och föreningar, kommer du hit i slutet av augusti är märkena nymålade och tydliga, men till juni brukar de vara skamfilade efter tusentals cykelpassager och backen heter därför "Märkesbacken".
I gräset bredvid märkesbacken finns diverse minnesstenar (och annat) placerade när sektioner och andra firat jämna år. Extra uppskattat kanske studenfiket Baljans 30-årsbänk är.

På tal om konst, så har någon placerat en hund vid "Signalens" fot, den kom dit under 1990-talet och har fått många lager färg som representerat olika universitetsutbildningar och studentorganisationer. Det ser nästan ut som om hunden har fått päls nu.

För att visa att du varit på plats och logga den här virtuella cachen måste du har ett foto med din logg. Antingen hunden eller något av märkena i cykelbanan.
- Om du väljer att ta en bild på dig själv eller en gruppbild, tillsammans med hunden eller i märkebacken, så går det givetvis utmärkt. Se bara till att skriva vem i bilden som är du, och se till att alla som loggar med samma bild har bilden i sina egna loggar.
- Du kan också göra en pappershatt med ditt geocachingnick som du placerar på hundens huvud och fotograferar av. Då har du bidragit till den här studentikosa konsten, men tad med hatten när du går så du inte skräpar ner.
- Om det är extra blåsigt, eller svårt att nå hunden av andra orsaker, kan du placera din namnhatt på marken bredvid ett märke och fotografera det istället.
Farligt område?
Främst på morgonen och kvällen är det många tusen studenter på cykel som ska passera, så gå inte runt och stirra i backen. Sätt dig hellre på Baljans bänk och titta på folklivet.
Signalen and Märkesbacken
At the coordinates is probably the highest, and oldest, piece of art on Campus Linköping, "Signalen" (The Signal) by Ernst Nordin and Hans Winberg. It was placed here in 1973 as C-huset (House "C" or the third building) was built in 1972.
If you look up into the sky, you will see four cylinders on top of the pillars, each cylinder a different radius and length. Can you guess which one has the largest volume? Answers to this question is welcome, but not required, in your log.
You will also see that there is a letter on the cylinder with the largest radius, this was not there originally but represents one of the student sections of the university, and it is said that the artist were not too pleased about that. But to this day the letter remains.
On the bike path here students each autumn paint insignias for various student bodies, mostly the sections but some student clubs are also represented. If you are here in late August these insignias will be very clear and easy to read, but thousands of bikes passing every day till wear them down over the year.
On the grass you will see various memorials as student organizations have commemorated different milestones. A special thanks to Baljan, the student café for the 30 year park bench.

Speaking of art, someone placed a dog at the foot of "The Signal" back in the 1990s. That dog has since been repainted in different colours representing various student organizations several times per year and on closer inspection these days looks like it has a fur coat.
Logging task
Your task, to be allowed to log this virtual is to take a photo of either the dog or one of the insignias on the ground, with something showing that it was you who were there.
- If you want to be in the photo yourself, or take a group picture, that is great. But please include any group pictures with each log and tell me where you are in the picture.
- You can alternatively make a paper hat with your geocaching nick clearly visible, put it on the head of the dog and take a picture of your own addition to this variable piece of art. Remember to take the hat with you however, to avoid littering.
- If it is particilarly windy, or you for other reasons can't put a hat on the dog, place your paper hat on the ground next to one of the insignias and photograph that.
Dangerous area?
Please avoid walking around looking at the ground during peak hours, as thousands of students pass here on bicycles every day. Or sit on the bench watching the spectacle.
