Pražský orloj ste už možno videli. No videli ste ten slovenský? Príďte sa pozrieť do obce Stará Bystrica, kde sa zrodil prvý orloj na Slovensku, ktorý je zároveň aj najväčšou drevenou sochou na Slovensku.
Orloj odbíja každú celú hodinu od 8:00 do 22:00, kedy si návštevníci môžu pozrieť promenádu siedmich slovenských svätcov. A čím sa Slovenský orloj môže pýšiť? No predsa tým, že je jediným orlojom na svete, ktorý ukazuje tzv. pravý slnečný čas.
Kompozícia predstavuje sediacu Madonu, Sedembolestnú Pannu Máriu, ktorá je patrónkou Slovenska. V jednotlivých výklenkoch orloja môžete pozorovať umiestnených šesť bronzových plastík významných slovenských osobností.
Srdcom orloja sú astronomické hodiny, tzv. astroláb, z ktorého sa dajú vyčítať údaje ako dátum, slnečný čas, poloha slnka v znamení zverokruhu, poloha mesiaca a fázy mesiaca.
Orloj má svoje neopísateľné čaro aj večer, pretože vtedy sa rozsvieti a vy tak môžete jeho jemnú a prepracovanú techniku a krásu obdivovať aj potme.
Pod orlojom sa nachádza vstup do malej predajnej galérie, v ktorej sa vystavujú diela profesionálnych i neprofesionálnych umelcov.

The Astronomical Clock strikes every hour from 8:00 to 22:00 , when visitors can see the promenade of seven Slovak saints. And how can the Astronomical Clock boast? Yet by being the only astronomical clock in the world that shows "right sunny time" .
The composition represents the sitting Madonna, the Seven-Sorrowing Virgin Mary , who is the patron of Slovakia. In the individual astronomical niches you can see six bronze statues of prominent Slovak personalities.
The astronomical clock is the heart of the clock (astrolabe), from which data such as the date, the sun's time, the position of the sun in the sign of the zodiac, the position of the moon and the phase of the moon can be read.
The astronomical clock has its undeniable charm even in the evening, because at that time it lights up and you can admire its delicate and sophisticated technique and beauty in the dark.
Under the Astronomical Clock is the entrance to a small sales gallery , where works by both professional and non-professional artists are exhibited.
