Vyer över Arvika

I 2003 flyttade ME5 till Arvika och en av de första sakerna vi gjorde var att gå på upptäcktsfärd i vårat nya närområde. Vi hittade då till utsiktstornet på Storkasberget och förälskade oss i utsikten mot Kyrkviken, stan och skogarna ikring. Man blir verkligen medveten om att vi befinner oss i de Värmländska skogar när man kommer upp hit. Men allt eftersom upptäckte vi flera ställen kring Kyrkviken och i stan där det är vackra vyer och den här virtuella cachen syftar till att visa upp några av dom. 

ME5 gillar att skapa geocacher som gör att du måste turista lite, så om du vill logga några sightseeing-cacher i Arvika, kan du kolla på den här listan. Men det finns många andra lokala cacher som också visar upp fina ställen - så ta dig en rejäl runda när du ändå är här!

För att kunna logga denna cachen måste du uppfylla följande krav:

1. Besök utsiktstornet på Storkasberget. Du måste klättra upp i toppen av tornet och notera märkningen på bultarna på toppbrädorna (Två bokstäver, två siffror, en bokstav, se spoilerbild).  Märkningen skickar du i ett meddelande till ME5.
2. Du måste posta ett kort av utsikten i din logg, valfri riktning
3. Du måste posta ett kort till i din logg av en annan vy över Arvika och du måste posta de koordinater du får på stället på din mobil eller GPS.

Vägpunkterna är förslag på ställen där du har fina vyer över stan, Kyrkviken, eller stadskärnan. Något måste med i bild som visar att du tagit kortet själv och varit på platsen:

• peka på det du vill visa upp
• alternativt selfie (du behöver inte visa ditt ansikte)
• alternativt visa upp en lapp med din nick
• alternativt vara kreativ med hur du pekar/vad du visar

Det är valfritt att posta kort från flera vägpunkter, inklusive egna valda. Men ange gärna koordinater.

Tänk på att: 

• Om du besöker cachen som del av ett större geocachargäng, måste vart och ett nick posta unika kort i sin logg, men man kan hänvisa till det nick som skickar in svaret i punkt 1.
• Svårighets- och terränggraden finns av en anledning - kraven för att få godkänt logg är satt för att jag vill att du ska "anstränga" dig lite för den här virtuella, t ex vill jag att du anger koordinater för att andra ska kunna hitta det stället du varit. Syftet är ju att hitta lite ögongodis!
• Det är en brant trappa upp och högt i tornet, och kan kännas lite svajigt - så att klättra upp är inte för alla.
• Du får självfallet logga direkt innan du har fått bekräftat rätt svar på punkt 1, jag kontaktar dig om svaret är fel.
• En del geocachingappar tillåter bara att man laddar upp ett kort i loggen. Skriv då att du ändrar loggen sedan, så bevakar jag det.
• Om du inte uppfyller alla tre krav ovan inklusive något som visar att du själv varit på platserna, kontaktar jag dig. Svarar du inte inom rimlig tid (2-3 veckor)/låter bli korrigera, raderar jag loggen.

Views of Arvika

In 2003, ME5 moved to Arvika and one of the first things we did was exploring our new neighbourhood. We found the lookout tower at Storkasberget and fell in love with the view towards Kyrkviken, the town and the forests surrounding us. You really become aware that Värmland is called a county of forests when you come up here. But gradually we discovered several other places around Kyrkviken and in town where there are beautiful views and this virtual cache aims to show you some of them.

ME5 likes to create geocaches that need you to be a little touristy, so if you want to do some sightseeing geocaches in Arvika, you can check out this list. But there are many other local caches that also takes you to nice spots - so make sure to have time for some caching when you're here!

In order to log this cache, you must meet the following requirements:

1. Visit the lookout tower at Storkasberget. You have to climb the top of the tower and find the marking on the bolts on the wooden railing, overlying boards. (Two letters, two numbers, one letter, see spoiler picture). Send marking in a message to ME5.
2. You must post a picture of the view in your log, take a picture in any direction you´d like.
3. You must post one more picture in your log of another view of Arvika and you must post the coordinates you get on that spot on your mobile or GPS.

The waypoints are suggestions for places where you have nice views of the town, the Kyrkviken, or inside the town centre. Something must be included in the picture proving that you have taken the picture yourself and been on the spot:

• point to what you want to show
• alternatively selfie (you don't have to show your face)
• alternatively a paper with your nick
• alternatively be creative with how you point / what you show

It is optional to post pictures from multiple waypoints, including some you find on your own. But I encourage you to specify the coordinates.

Keep in mind that:

• If you visit the cache as part of a group of geocachers, each nick must post unique pictures in their log, but one can refer to the nick that submits the answer in paragraph 1.
• The degree of difficulty and terrain is for a reason - the requirements for having an approved log are set as they are because I want you to "strain" yourself a little for this virtual, for example I want you to enter coordinates so that others can find that nice spot you´ve been. The purpose is after all to find some eye candy!
• It is a steep staircase up and high in the tower, and can feel a little swaying - so climbing up is not for everyone.
• You can of course post your log immediately, before I have confirmed the correct answer to paragraph 1, I will contact you if the answer is wrong.
• Some geocachingapps doesn´t allow you to upload more than one picture. Write in the log that you will update later, and I will be monitoring that.
• If you do not meet all three requirements above, including something that shows that you have been to the places yourself, I will contact you. If you do not respond within a reasonable time (2-3 weeks) / correct your log as requested, I will delete the log
