Dobrý vojak Švejk
Najznámejším dielom významného českého spisovateľa JAROSLAVA HAŠKA je dielo Osudy dobrého vojaka Švejka. Kniha o humorných príbehoch netypického vojaka si získala srdcia čitateľov na celom svete.
Bola preložená do mnohých jazykov, v ktorých dodnes vyniká najmä hĺbkou a životnosťou postrehov satirika a humoristu, ktorý vedel geniálne vykresliť charakter a motívy myslenia a jednania skutočných, literárne štylizovaných, tragikomických hrdinov svojich próz, ducha doby. Švejk toto všetko stelesňuje, pravdaže, ako literárna postava, v Humennom však aj ako socha ozvláštňujúcu humenskú železničnú stanicu.
Román Osudy dobrého vojaka Švejka, ktorý sa s neuveriteľnou samozrejmosťou zaradil medzi diela svetovej literatúry, tvoriace jej zlatý fond.
To, že má mesto priame železničné spojenie s Bratislavou, Prahou a Budapešťou, patrí k samozrejmým faktom. Od júna 1999 je však Humenné takto spojené aj s poľským mestom Sanok. Oveľa väčšou zvláštnosťou je socha, akú nenájdete nikde na svete.

Kamenná kópia nezabudnuteľného obrázku Josefa Ladu stojí na železničnej stanici pri historickej studni a typickým pohľadom sa díva kamsi pred seba. Na studňu Jaroslav Hašek nezabudol ani vo svojich spomienkach. Nemohol, veď voda z nej mu tak veľmi chutila…
Sochu slávnostne odhalili 6. októbra 2000, čiže v tom istom roku ako vznikla táto naša krásna hra. Krátko po tomto slávnostnom akte došlo ku kurióznej príhode, ktorú zaznamenala redaktorka istých regionálnych novín: jeden cestujúci si žiadal lístok na „Švejkovu stanicu“. Aj táto úsmevná príhoda svedčí o tom, že Humenčania veľmi rýchlo prijali Švejka medzi seba. Dielo humenského sochára Jaroslava Drotára meria vyše dvoch metrov a váži viac ako 150 kilogramov liateho kameňa.
Oveľa menej ľudí však vie, že v Humennom máme ešte jednu sochu dobrého vojaka Švejka a to pri fontáne lásky. Je však neporovnateľne menšia a nenápadnejšia. Pozornému oku však neunikne.
Vašou úlohou je pridať do Vášho logu dve fotografie na ktorej salutujete tak, aby Vás bolo vidieť v polohe salutovania a vedľa Vás sochu dobrého vojaka Švejka. Táto úloha sa vzťahuje na veľkú sochu ako aj malú sochu Švejka v Humennom. Jedna fotka mi nestačí. Ak máte problém so zverejnením svojej tváre, môžete ju zakryť svojím GC nickom.

The most famous work of the famous czech writer JAROSLAV HAŠEK is the work of the The Fate of Good Soldier Švejk. A book about humorous stories of atypical soldier has won the hearts of readers around the world.
It has been translated into many languages, in which it still stands out due to the depth and lifetime of the insights of a satirist and humorist, who was able to ingeniously portray the character and motives of thinking and acting the real, literally stylized, tragicomic heroes of his prose, the spirit of the times. Švejk embodies all this, of course, as a literary figure, but in Humenné as a statue of the Humenne´s railway station.
The novel The Fate of Good Soldier Švejk with incredible naturalness, has become one of the works of world literature, creating her golden fund.
The fact that the city has direct rail links to Bratislava, Prague and Budapest is a matter of course. However, since June 1999, Humenné has been connected with the Polish town of Sanok. Much more peculiar is the sculpture you will not find anywhere in the world.

The stone statue of Josef Lada's unforgettable picture stands at a railway station by a historical well and looks in front of himself with a typical look. Jaroslav Hašek has not forgotten the well in his memories. He couldn't, because the water tasted hm so much...
The statue was unveiled on 6th October 2000, in the same year in which our beautiful game was established. Shortly after this solemn event, a curious incident occurred which was recorded by an editor of certain regional newspapers: one passenger asked for a ticket for "Švejk's station". Even this funny incident proves that local people very quickly accepted Švejk among themselves. The work of the sculptor, Jaroslav Drotár, is over two meters high and weighs more than 150 kilograms of cast stone.
Much fewer people, however, know that in Humenné we have another statue of a good soldier Svejk and that at the fountain of love. However, it is incomparably smaller and more unobtrusive. But it won't escape your sharp eye.
