Over the many years since moving to live in the wonderful south-west of England, I have travelled hundreds of times up and down the M5 either with anticipation of my trip ahead or with longing to get back home again however much I enjoyed my trip. This journey has been enhanced since September 2000 when Willow Man was erected on the west side [going north] just south of Junction 23 in Somerset, so much so that however much I look forward to my future destination, I feel sad that I am leaving him behind - and very happy that I am passing him again on my way home!
The Willow Man is a large sculpture by Serena de la Hey commissioned by South West Arts for the Year of the Artist and was unveiled in September 2000 marking the millennium and celebrates the role of willow in the ecology and craft tradition of the Somerset Levels. Sadly the first sculpture was burnt down by arson in 2001 but thankfully rebuilt by Serena later that year, and now has a circular moat to prevent further damage.

3. How many of these signs are there? - you will need to walk around the perimeter fence to answer this one correctly!
4. Upload a photograph to your log as proof that you have been to the given coordinates which can be a selfie, contain part of you, your GPS in your hand – any photo that proves you have been there!
