Esta encantadora cidade medieval, foi construída no topo de uma colina sobranceira, na margem direita do rio Guadiana, que faz fronteira entre Portugal e Espanha. Em Monsaraz, prepare-se para fazer uma viagem no tempo.
Com as suas casas caiadas de branco, com telhados vermelhos, suas varandas de ferro forjado e suas longas chaminés que datam de 300 anos, este lugar mágico é ideal para fazer belos passeios, no seu labirinto de ruas estreitas e pequenas praças cheias de flores.
Nesta aldeia de 750 habitantes, existem seis igrejas, incluindo a de Santa Maria da Lagoa, uma das mais imponentes. Mas o maior monumento de Monsaraz é o seu castelo e as suas torres medievais que dominam o vale. Do seu cume, é possível admirar uma vista esplêndida sobre a vasta extensão de terreno plantado com olivais, sobreiros centenários e vinhas, e sobre a barragem e o Lago de Alqueva, um dos maiores lagos artificiais da Europa.
Para logar esta virtual, deverá dirigir-se às coordenadas publicadas e tirar uma fotografia a si mesmo (selfie), com a paisagem atrás, que deverá ser anexada ao seu log. With its whitewashed houses topped with red roofs, its wrought iron balconies and its long chimneys that date back to 300 years, this magical place is ideal for taking beautiful walks through its maze of narrow streets and small flower-filled squares.
In this village of 750 inhabitants, there are six churches, including Santa Maria da Lagoa, one of the most imposing. But the major monument of Monsaraz is its castle and its medieval towers which dominate the valley. From their summit, there is a splendid view over the vast expanse of land planted with olive groves, century-old cork oaks, and vineyards, and on the dam and the Lake Alqueva, it is considered to be one of the largest artificial lakes in Europe.
