Pieve di Cadore è un paese poco distante dal Lago di Centro Cadore e circondato dalle belle vette dolomitiche, magnifico esempio di arte e di grande importanza storica, da sempre “capitale” del Cadore.
La sua piazza è un vero gioiello dall’atmosfera senza tempo, raccolta attorno alla statua dedicata al pittore Tiziano Vecellio, che qui nacque nel 1488, e delimitata dal Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità di Cadore con la torre civica (XV secolo, ricostruiti nel XVI), dalla chiesa arcidiaconale di Santa Maria Nascente (ricostruita nel XVIII secolo) - che conserva, tra le altre preziose opere d’arte, una “Madonna con Bambino” di Tiziano - e dalle antiche residenze che ben testimoniano i lunghi anni di pace e prosperità di cui godette il Cadore sotto il governo della Serenissima.
Poco distante si può visitare la casa natale di Tiziano Vecellio, dichiarata monumento nazionale, e il Museo dell’Occhiale. Il Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità di Cadore, antico organo amministrativo tuttora attivo, ospita anche il Museo Archeologico Cadorino, per scoprire la storia più remota dell’area attraverso pannelli didattici, documenti e reperti ritrovati proprio tra queste montagne.
La cache si trova nella adiacente Piazza Municipio (50 metri di distanza da Piazza Tiziano), dove sono visibili alcune strutture pertinenti a un’abitazione romana di età imperiale. In particolare si distinguono tre ambienti provvisti di un sistema di riscaldamento sottopavimentale. Dei pavimenti originariamente rivestiti a mosaico uno è ancora visibile sul posto, mentre un altro è ora esposto presso il Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità di Cadore.

Pieve di Cadore, a village not far from Lake of Centro Cadore and surrounded by the beautiful Dolomite peaks, is an important town and magnificent example of art and great historical importance, that has always been the "capital" of Cadore.
Its square is a real timeless gem, gathered around the statue of the painter Tiziano Vecellio, born here in 1488, and bounded by the Palace of the Magnificent Community of Cadore with the civic tower (XV century, rebuilt in the sixteenth), the archdeacon church of Santa Maria Nascente (rebuilt in the eighteenth century) - which houses, among other valuable works of art, a "Madonna and Child" by Titian - and the ancient residences that witness the long years of peace and prosperity that characterized Cadore under the government of Venice.
Nearby it is possible to visit Tiziano Vecellio's birthplace, declared a national monument, and the Eyeglass Museum. The Palace of the Magnificent Community of Cadore, which is the ancient and still active administrative body, lodges the Archaeological Museum Cadorino where the most remote history of this area is the protagonist of educational panels, documents and artefacts found right in between these mountains.
The cache is located in the adjacent Piazza Municipio (50 meters away from Piazza Tiziano), where some structures belonging to a Roman residence of the imperial age are visible. In particular, there are three rooms with an underfloor heating system. One of the floors originally covered with mosaics is still visible on the spot, while another one is now exposed at the Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità di Cadore.

Pieve di Cadore ist ein Dorf unweit des Sees von Centro Cadore und umgeben von den wunderschönen Gipfeln der Dolomiten, ein großartiges Beispiel für Kunst und von großer historischer Bedeutung, das es seit jeher die "Hauptstadt" des Cadore ist.
Der Platz ist ein wahres Juwel mit einer zeitlosen Atmosphäre, geprägt von der Statue des Malers Tiziano Vecellio, der hier 1488 geboren wurde. Hier steht auch der Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità di Cadore mit dem Stadtturm (15. Jh., wieder aufgebaut im 16. Jh.) und die Erzdiözesankirche Santa Maria Nascente (wieder aufgebaut im 18. Jahrhundert) - in der neben anderen wertvollen Kunstwerken eine "Madonna mit Kind" von Tizian aufbewahrt wird. Die alten Residenzen zeugen von den langen Jahren des Friedens und des Wohlstands, die das Cadore unter der Herrschaft der Serenissima genoss.
Nicht weit entfernt können Sie das Geburtshaus von Tizian Vecellio, das zum Nationaldenkmal erklärt wurde, und das Brillenmuseum besichtigen. Der Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità di Cadore, eine alte Verwaltungseinrichtung, die auch heute noch aktiv ist, beherbergt auch das Archäologische Museum von Cadorino, in dem die Geschichte der Gegend anhand von didaktischen Tafeln, Dokumenten und Funden, die direkt in diesen Bergen gefunden wurden, besichtigt werden kann.
Der Cache befindet sich auf der angrenzenden Piazza Municipio (50 Meter von der Piazza Tiziano entfernt), wo einige Strukturen einer römischen Behausung aus der Kaiserzeit zu sehen sind. Insbesondere gibt es drei Räume, die mit einer Fußbodenheizung ausgestattet sind. Von den ursprünglich mit Mosaiken bedeckten Fußböden ist einer vor Ort noch sichtbar, während ein weiterer Fußboden heute im Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità di Cadore ausgestellt ist.
