The Peninsula Recreation Precinct at Umina Beach, opened in 2010, provides fun and enjoyment for all ages and interests, now including even geocachers! Your mission for today, should you decide to accept it, is to find the clues to complete the crossword below. Once you've done that, match the numbers in the boxes to the letters in the coordinates to locate the cache.
On the wall at the listed coordinates is a plaque marking the opening of the facility by two dignitaries. Place their first names in the left and middle vertical columns of the puzzle.
Now visit each of the seven waypoints to find wooden posts bearing the letters A, B, Q, R, S, T and W. Use the words on the posts starting with those initials to complete the puzzle.
Finally, use the numbered boxes in the puzzle to substitute digits for the letters in the decimal minutes of the cache's coordinates:
S 33° 31.NAQ E 151° 18.IHL
To reach GZ, walk along the path past the playing fields to the trackhead waypoint where you'll find a fenced walking track to the left. There's no need to cross the creek or enter the caravan park. The container is about 80ml in volume but its attached camo is considerably larger, about the size of a regular.
Congratulations to GeoWonka, the first to complete this mission.
