Geocache Description:

This is the way the locals call it. Visitors will better understand the name if written like this: Kornyi-tó, i.e., lake Kornyi. This is the biggest lake in the Káli basin.

My friend, Cipó says it is the centre of the Universe. Indeed, you get this feeling while being there. The area belongs to the Balaton Highland National Park. This is the favourite shooting location of the famous director, Miklos Jancsó.

The lake is to the right of the road from Köveskál to Kovágóörs, on the plain. You won't see it from the road but you will notice the group of Imre Varga's sculptures on the little hill next to the lake. Driving past the sculptures you will find a small designated parking area from where you will have to walk.

Another attraction of this area used to be an ostrich farm, which however is closed by now.

The cache had to be transformed into a virtual one on 17 November 2002.

The coordinates have changed and now point to the information board between the sculptures and the lake. You can verify your finding the cache on the Hungarian geocaching WEB site (visit link) by a password on this board. Hint: coins have two sides.
