Northern Lights GeoTour on 12 kätkön sarja Saariselän ja Kiilopään maisemissa. Kätköt tekevät tutuksi revontulten olemusta ja niihin liittyviä uskomuksia. Kätköt ovat perheystävällisiä ja talvilöydettäviä.

Northern Lights GeoTour is a series or 12 caches in Saariselkä and Kiilopää areas in Finnish Lapland. The caches will take you into the world of the northern lights and present facts and myths about the aurora borealis phenomenon. All the caches are family friendly and accessible throughout a year.

Leveyspiirit 60° – 70°

Näillä leveyspiireillä nähdään revontulia eniten koko maailmassa. Vain 2%:ssa maailman maista nähdään suurin osa revontulista. Suomi kuuluu näiden maiden joukkoon.

Kätkö

Logataksesi kätkön, sinun pitää tunnistaa leveyspiiri, jossa nyt olet ja kääntää kompassi suuntaan, jossa voit suurimmalla todennäköisyydellä nähdä revontulet.

Northern Lights GeoTour

GeoTourin omaa geokolikkoa on myytävänä rajoitettu määrä leimattua GeoTour-passia vastaan. Sinun tulee käydä vähintään kuudella GeoTourin kätköllä sekä leimata passisi kätköstä löytyvillä reijittäjillä. To log the cache, You must recognize the latitude were you are located at the moment and to turn compass to the direction, where you most likely can see the northern lights.

The northern lights are most commonly visible between 60 and 70 degrees latitude, or in only 2% of the world’s countries. Finland is one of those countries.

To log the cache, identify the latitude where you are located right now, and rotate the compass to face the direction where you are most likely to see the northern lights.

Northern Lights GeoTour coins are available for purchase on a first-come, first-serve basis. You must present the punched passport in order to buy a coin (maximum of one black and one purple coin per Username). Show 6 punch marks from different caches to purchase the black geocoin, and 12 punch marks to purchase the purple geocoin. More information at Suomen Latu profile page.
