Unvergessen ist der Erste Weltkrieg in den Sextner Dolomiten von 1915-1918, die in dieser Zeit Schauplatz heftiger militärischer Auseinandersetzungen waren. Unter widrigsten Bedingungen versuchten sowohl Österreich als auch Italien ihre Stellungen zu verteidigen, auszubauen und neuen Raum zu erkämpfen. Dieser Krieg hinterließ Spuren nicht nur in felsigen Höhen, er zog die Zivilbevölkerung in den Tälern in ebenso große Mitleidenschaft.

Historischer Verein Bellum Aquilarum

Der Verein Bellum Aquilarum ONLUS wurde von einigen Sextner Bürgern gegründet, um die Spuren des Ersten Weltkrieges vor dem endgültigen Verfall und vor dem Vergessen für die Nachkommen, für das Land und für die Völker Europas zu bewahren. Die Initiative soll ein Mahnmal gegen den Krieg und dessen weitreichende Folgen werden. Das Projekt beinhaltet die Verwirklichung eines Freilichtmuseums auf der Rotwand, eines historischen Museums und eines Dokumentationszentrums in Sexten.

Indimenticata è la Prima Guerra Mondiale nelle Dolomiti di Sesto dal 1915 al 1918, teatro di aspri conflitti militari in questo periodo. Nelle condizioni più avverse, sia l'Austria che l'Italia hanno cercato di difendere ed espandere le proprie posizioni e lottare per nuovi spazi. Questa guerra ha lasciato il segno non solo sulle alture rocciose, ma anche sulla popolazione civile delle valli.

Associazione storica Bellum Aquilarum

L'associazione Bellum Aquilarum ONLUS è stata fondata da alcuni cittadini di Sesto per rintracciare le tracce della Prima Guerra Mondiale prima del definitivo decadimento e prima di dimenticarsene per i discendenti, per il Paese e per i popoli d'Europa. L'iniziativa vuole essere un memoriale della guerra e delle sue profonde conseguenze. Il progetto prevede la realizzazione di un museo all'aperto sulla Croda Rossa, un museo storico e un centro di documentazione a Sesto.

Unforgotten is the First World War in the Sesto Dolomites from 1915-1918, which were the scene of fierce military conflicts during this period. Under the most adverse conditions, both Austria and Italy tried to defend and expand their positions and fight for new space. This war left its mark not only on rocky heights, but also on the civilian population in the valleys.

Historical Association Bellum Aquilarum

The association Bellum Aquilarum ONLUS was founded by some citizens of Sesto in order to trace the traces of the First World War before the final decay and before forgetting for the descendants, for the country and for the peoples of Europe. The initiative is intended to be a memorial to the war and its far-reaching consequences. The project includes the realisation of an open-air museum on the Croda Rossa, a historical museum and a documentation centre in Sesto.
