Geocache Description:

12 June 2019, 11:45 - 12:45

Come on down to 53rd Street and Park Ave. on your lunch break to meet some fellow geocachers, exchange some trackables and maybe get some falafel nearby too!

June 12th is National Falafel Day.  Deep-fried and composed of chickpeas or fava beans, this Middle Eastern food is often found wrapped up in a pita bread, or served with salad and sauces.  Exactly where falafel originated is up for debate.  For the most part, many agree that it was first eaten widely in Egypt, when it may have been eaten as a replacement for meat during Lent.

This lunch-time event will take place from 11:45 AM until 12:45 PM, when I need to get back to the office. In the meantime, I will be at the outdoor plaza area near the SE corner of 53rd and Park wearing my blue and white NEW MARKET MALLERS shirt.  Come on down and sign the log, say hello and maybe exchange a few trackables.

You do not have to purchase anything to attend this event.  You don't even have to eat any falafel!  But, for anyone who is interested, there is a place across the street where you can get some falafel or a kebab or something for lunch if you want.
