Geocache Description:

PLEASE READ BEFORE ATTEMPTING THE SERIES

Feel free to replace a cache if you can't find it.
A 16 mile, with 1500ft of elevation, power trail consisting of 108 caches, more if you count the extra few along the route that don’t belong to this series. Please note that it is NOT INTENDED TO BE A DRIVE BY SERIES. If completing the whole route it is partly unsuitable for bicycles/prams (however, smaller loops along the roads should be fine) and should be OK for most dogs. The caches are placed along mostly narrow but quiet country lanes and some public footpaths and byways. There are a few stiles to cross, a gate, some mud and water along route, read below for more detail.

Points to note
- The section between numbers 8 and 12 is liable to flooding but there is a clearly trodden trail through the trees to the right.
- The section between numbers 26 and 29 can be very muddy indeed so boots would be ideal.
- The section between 053 and 056 can be a busier road so take care especially with children and animals.
- The section between 083 and 086 can get VERY overgrown, trousers are recommended especially in summer.
- The section between numbers 91 to 92 can be a busier road so take care especially with children and animals.

Finding the caches
Cache to cache distance averages just 220 meters apart so please expect some hides to be a little harder than base of gatepost as there simply aren’t that many gateposts! There are a few bigger gaps where I physically couldn’t place another of the series along that section, the longest gap is still only 450 meters.

The caches have been placed to be found and where the hides are slightly harder I will give a more detailed clue to save on searching time. If, however, you have spent longer than 5-10 minutes searching for a cache and believe it is missing, please log a DNF and I will check on it as soon as possible.

Logging the caches
Copy and paste logs are encouraged except for your main log where you can detail your experience on doing the Vale Power Trail and add any pictures. Please don’t forget to log a maintenance note if a container/logbook is damaged/needs replacing.

There aren’t too many safe parking places along the route so I've provided the best places places below
