This cache is part of the Fizzy Fest 10K series. Dear Fizzy, welcome to the ranks of the retired, happy birthday, and congratulations on your 10k milestone.
(And now back to our regularly scheduled puzzle.)
Centuries ago a special map with nine markings was discovered. According to ancient legend, a huge deluge threatened to destroy the land; people offered sacrifices to the god of one certain river to try to calm his anger. A magical turtle emerged from the water with a curious pattern of markings on its shell. This map of markings was interpreted by scholars as having eight equal yet different attributes, each of which was found to be in harmony with the natural world.
This is the sort of puzzle that requires you to think out of the box and visualize nine as 16 by viewing the map from all angles.
