Geocache Description:

19 April 2019, 20:30 - 21:30

A simple social gathering under the full moon at a favourite secret place in the woods.

Friday, April 19 (Good Friday) 8:30-9:30 pm

There's no iron-mannish hike as any obligatory part of the event (whew!), but a certain amount of walking in the wilderness is required, some of it off-trail, to get here. Come prepared with maps, lighting (in case the moon doesn't work or something), and your usual outdoor and emergency gear. Oh, and bring something to sit on. I'll bring the usual junk food, tools, and trimmings, but please bring your own choice of beverage.

If you'd like company for the hike, there are two three two options.

1) I'll be at the University Gate at 5:00pm (well before sunset) if anybody would like company for a meandering walk in. Yes, I know it shouldn't take anywhere near 3½ hours (!) to walk in. But we're cachers; we like to take the long way. I was thinking we could walk to the University's inner gate, and then... Who knows? We can decide as we go, by request.

2) See WillowZilla's log below for a longer-hike option.

3) See Jazzhiker's log below for a loonger-hike option.

The group hikes are entirely optional (not part of the event per Groundspeak's rules), and you're most welcome to simply proceed instead directly to the event coords for 8:30.

The sun sets at 8:40, and the moon rises at 9:07.

DIY option, with University Gate shown at top right. Note marshes.

For comparison, here's 2017's a-month-too-soon winter version, and the just-right first annual version one moon later, in spring (pictured below).
