O Ninho

The Nest
Seagulls live in colonies
Seagulls are gregarious birds that live in colonies (of varied size). However, isolated couples can sometimes be found. They are monogamous animals, that is, they mate for life, although couples only gather during the nesting season. In April-July nesting takes place and females lay between 2 and 4 eggs.
Seagull eggs are bluish-white, greenish or olive-colored, and incubation is done by one parent, especially the mother. In 26-32 days the puppies are born, which are raised by both parents. The day after they are born they may leave the nest, although they remain nearby under the protection of their parents.
Seagulls can live up to 30 years, although juvenile mortality is very high.
Seagulls nest in inaccessible places
In natural populations, seagulls usually nest on islets, rocks or rocks. However, in recent years, in which the high density of individuals in natural populations led to a shortage of breeding sites, caused these birds to establish their nesting areas in humanized areas. In these areas, they usually build nests in inaccessible places with abundant shadows and nooks, such as roofs, chimneys, terraces, and almost flat roofs covered with gravel or vegetation.
Boa Sorte! Good Luck!
