Quilts have always been a large part of American History since colonial times. Farmers and business owners seeking to draw attention to their farms or businesses began creating large and colorful Quilt squares mounted on their barns and buildings. Throughout the country several Barn Quilt trails have developed to highlight these works of art, the beautiful countryside and quaint towns where they are displayed.
The Top of Oklahoma Barn Quilt Trail was established by the Blackwell Tourism and Development board and includes 62 Barn quilts representing each of the 50 United States as well as local school mascots and historical locations.
The Barn Quilt Geo-Trail includes 40 various types of Geocaches near many of the Barn Quilt locations.
Each geocache will contain a unique code that you will need to record on your Trail Guide (click to access).
A commemorative trackable Geocoin is available for the first 250 geocachers who complete the Trail requirements (listed in the Trail Guide) and submit their completed Trail Guide.
Please mail your completed Trail Guide to the address on the guide. Coins will be sent once completion is verified.
Please be respectful of each barn quilt location and the property owners. Some of the locations may have designated parking due to farming and/or other considerations.
All property owners and the Blackwell Tourism & Development board have approved the location of the Barn Quilts and Geocaches.
