Geocache Description:

St Stephen's Church - Fradley

Church History

St. Stephen's Church was consecrated on 23rd May 1861, and recent improvements mean that the church is warm and has modern facilities.

In 2000 a memorial to commemorate all those who served at RAF Lichfield was constructed opposite St Stephen's Church, this is worth a visit while you are here, however, there is no information to found there for this cache.

The Churchyard contains Commonwealth war graves from both the First World War and the Second World War, buried here are Australian airmen and also a single German airman, who for many years only had a shabby wooden cross, but in more modern times this has been upgraded to a smart stone memorial to match those of the Australian airmen.

Parking

A parking waypoint is provided, but this is only available during daylight hours, there is plenty of on street parking, but please note that there is a Primary School next to St Stephen's Church, so best to avoid school drop off and kicking out time.

The Cache

This is a simple multi cache, requiring you to find some information within the churchyard. Please note the cache itself is not inside the churchyard, but a short walk away and not anywhere near the Primary School.

At the entrance to the church there are drainpipes either side of the entrance, using either drainpipe, find the year at the top, allocate the year to the number ABCD.

The cache can be found at:
