A Ermida de Santo António do Alto é um edifício "notável" da cidade de Faro, Portugal. Situada no ponto mais alto da cidade, a ermida deve a esta localização o seu nome, tendo aí sido construída, provavelmente no século XV, ao lado de uma torre de atalaia medieval datada de 1355.
No séc. XVI foi submetida a algumas remodelações e a parte inferior da torre foi utilizada como capela-mor, onde se encontra a abóbada estrelada do período manuelino. No séc. XVIII, sofreu obras profundas: a capela-mor foi fechada, construiu-se uma galilé e uma sacristia, houve um aumento da nave e, consequentemente, uma nova fachada. É de realçar o núcleo de imaginária barroca e o retábulo da capela-mor, obra do mesmo período artístico da autoria do Mestre Manuel Martins e executada por Tomé da Costa e Francisco Xavier Guedelha. No edifício funciona um Museu Antonino com uma curiosa colecção de imagens, pinturas e gravuras alusivas a Santo António.
No século XX a torre sofreu um acrescento de modo a incorporar um depósito de água, continuando contudo a ser possível ascender ao topo e desfrutar de uma magnífica panorâmica da cidade e da região entre esta e a cidade vizinha de Olhão.
No seu interior tem um interessante legado artístico e desde ela contemplarás vistas espetaculares sobre a cidade graças à sua torre medieval.

The “Ermida de Santo António do Alto” is a "remarkable" building in Faro, Portugal. Located at the highest point of the town, the hermitage owes its name to this location, having been built there, probably in the 15th century, next to a medieval watchtower from 1355.
In the 16th century it was put through some remodeling and the lower part of the tower was used as the main chapel, where there is the starry vault of the Manueline period. In the 18th century, it suffered major renovation: the main chapel was closed, a galilee and a sacristy were built, there was an increase of the nave and, consequently, a new facade. It is worth highlighting the baroque imaginary nucleus and the altarpiece of the main chapel, the work of the same artistic period by the master Manuel Martins and executed by Tomé da Costa and Francisco Xavier Guedelha. Inside the building there is an Antonino Museum with a curious collection of images, paintings and engravings on Saint Anthony.
In the 20th century to the tower was added a water tank, but it is still possible to ascend to the top and enjoy a magnificent view of the city and the region between it and the neighboring city of Olhão.
Inside there is an interesting artistic legacy and from it you will contemplate spectacular views of the city thanks to its medieval tower.
