Geocache Description:

Last summer I visited a client in Cold Spring, Minnesota.  After the 1st day of training concluded I decided, of course, to vist the 4 geocaches in this small town, and then some more on my way back to the hotel in St. Cloud.  I went to one entitled Cold Spring Welcomes You (GC2C1V6), which I expected to be a typical hide on or near a welcome sign.  There is a sign, but it is on top of a 4 foot high circular wall, made of loose rocks, about 30 feet in circumference. It was filled with many nooks and crannies.

I circled around that wall at least 5 times and also checked on top, nothing.  The part of the wall facing the road showed evidence of a violent car crash, with broken glass and assorted car parts in the wall and scattered on the ground.  I noticed one car part that I thought would make a unique geocache container so I kept it.  After a few more attempts I finally called it quits and logged a DNF, which I'll likely never avenge.

As a consolation, I got this nifty cache container and visited a beautiful cache location nearby entitled Pilgrimage Chapel (GC1BT8N), which is home to the Assumption Chapel, also known as the Grasshopper Chapel, built in petition for relief from the Grasshopper Plagues of the 1870s. The cache was just a bison, but the location is truly splendid.

Let me know if you have ever seen this specific container used as a geocache.  It's tethered, but loosely so you can remove the container and extract the log.  Please place it back in the tether. It has room for small trackables, I left one for the FTF.  This one may be a bit more difficult in summer as the vegetation is dense, but it's not very far from the road.  I hope you like it!
